To avoid infection
‘Prevention is better than cure.’ To avoid infection take care of the following instructions:
- Wash your hands frequently: Everything is in your hands. Wash the germs away whenever you enter the house. At your workplace or wherever water is not available use some hand sanitizer.
- Take care of personal hygiene.
- Keep your surroundings clean. Properly dispose of the garbage, because garbage heaps are ideal breeding sites for most germs.
- Avoid formal greetings, handshakes, or kisses.
- Avoid touching your face with your hands.
- Wear a face mask.
- Drink water frequently, or gargle with lukewarm salty water. It will reduce the chances of the virus getting into the respiratory system.
- Avoid crowded places. Self-isolation is the best way to stop the spread of the disease.
To Save from infections
There are thousands of viruses present around us, and many of them attack us every day, our immune system beats them away without bringing it to our notice.
Like all other viruses when COVID-19 attacks our body, our immune system gets active against it. What we can do is support our immune system. Here are some measures we should take to boost our immunity.
Early to Bed and Early to rise/Makes a Man Healthy, Wealthy and wise.
This centuries-old maxim is a million dollars worth. Sleep in the first quarter of the night has miraculous effects on our health. It triggers the production of the Melatonin hormone that regulates the antioxidant actions and builds up our immunity against infections. 8 p.m. to 12 midnight sleep is rightly called ‘The Beauty Sleep’. While sleeping till late in the morning has a depressing effect on our bodies.
2. Sunshine (a huge source of vitamin D)
The benefits of sunshine for health are great. Sunshine, for our physical health, is as much necessary as it is for plants. The rays of the rising sun trigger the production of ‘Serotonin’ which is a multi-functional neurotransmitter and helps to regulate digestion, memory, mood, and social behavior. It is rightly called the ‘happy chemical’. It is essential for the well-being of our body and mind.
3. Be Close to Nature.
Nature is a close friend of health. Being natural means being Healthy. Get up early in the morning; sit on the grass; look at the birds; inhale the oxygen. Similarly, going to some river, lake or sea has a magical effect on health, and so on our immune system. It will not only help us beat the infection but live a happy life also.
4. Use a well-balanced diet.
Refinement is a gift of civilization, but refinement in food is not desirable. A wholesome diet is full of nutrients that refined food is deprived of. Most processed food items contain different chemicals to enhance their flavor, texture, and stability and have adverse effects on our general health and immune system. So depend more on wholesome organic food and avoid processed or refined food.
5. Replace Soft drinks with Fresh Juices:
Like all processed foods, soft drinks are a mixture of different stabilizers, preservatives, flavor enhancers, etc. While besides their great, fresh juices, they are full of vitamins and minerals, which boost our immunity. So they are a great help to our defense mechanism against any infection including COVID-19.
Green Tea is also a good option. It has antioxidants, and so helps the immune system.
Yogurt:
Yogurt contains nearly all the nutrients our body needs. It also contains Probiotics, which strengthen our immune system and lowers the chances of getting the infection. Worldwide studies have shown that people, who add yogurt to their daily diet, live longer and healthy lives. it should be, preferably, fresh homemade yogurt rather than flavored, canned yogurt.
6. Good Relationship with Others:
Food is not everything. Our thoughts and mood also trigger the production of certain healthful or harmful substances in our bodies. As a result, it is responsible for the overall health of our body. If you want a healthy life, be positive, happy, and optimistic.
No one’s life is perfect. Everyone’s life is a mixture of joys and griefs, blessings and troubles, success and failures. If there are difficult people in life, there must be helping hands.
If there are dark memories, there must be happy hours. Forget the dark memories; forgive the people who did bad to you. When we forgive others, we forgive ourselves. We relieve our nerves. So don’t give your time and your valuable energy to the things you don’t like.
7. Concentrate on positive things in life.
you must try to Count your blessings, not your troubles. Build up good relationships with others. Help others. This will create positive energy in your body, and help defeat harmful agents entering the body.
8 . Pray to God:
Along with all your precautions and efforts, just pray to God. Pray works in two ways. Firstly, it gives us inner peace and tranquillity. Makes us calm and serene, and gives us the strength to fight any disease.
Secondly, it invokes the mercy of God and saves us from any disaster. So, pray to God and seek his protection from this disease, because if He saves nothing can harm.
